Description: The Bathurst caribou herd range planning area shows the planning boundary adopted by the Bathurst Caribou Range Plan Working Group and was adopted in 2015. The Planning area boundary was derived according to overlapping area based on traditional knowledge as well as the annual range of the Bathurst herd derived from radio collared female caribou from 1996-2014 (as described by Nagy 2011) and modified slightly to account for recent observations. This boundary allows the Range Plan to accommodate herd recovery and growth relative to its current status.
